This is a book I designed that contains all of Grimm's fairy tales. The scope of the project was to design a book that captured the essence of the stories within. I based my design on Little Red Riding Hood and created mandalas and glyphs for the cover and page treatments to capture the wonder and fantastical nature of the Grimm's fairy tales.

The goal for this project was to design a cover for the 2024 Expressions magazine at DMACC. The Expressions magazine is a compilation of stories and poems that students wrote and were chosen to be put in the magazine. I designed two cover versions for the magazine. The cover art is meant to represent creativity and being drawn into the magic and wonder of storytelling. For the inside of the magazine, each student was assigned a story or poem to design the layout for. I was assigned a poem titled Ballerina. The poem focuses on a music box ballet dancer endlessly spinning. I created the illustrations for it where I aimed to capture the monotonous routine of the music box ballerina.

Stranger is a story that a writing student of DMACC wrote for the Expressions magazine a year ago. The assignment was to design a layout for the four-page story emphasizing key elements in a unique format. Stranger is about a girl that runs away from an abusive relationship and meets a kind stranger who shows her there are still people who care about others. At the end it is revealed the girl is dead and the stranger has been talking with her spirit, giving her the comfort she needed to move on to the afterlife. I created all the illustrations in the story where I drew key moments to complement the storytelling and emphasize the emotions.
